Dr. 扶桑 Demir-Deviren is a physiatrist, a specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation. She treats a wide range of conditions – from sore shoulders to spinal cord injuries – with the goal of restoring function. Her expertise includes musculoskeletal disorders, acute and chronic pain, interventional therapy for the spine, joint and soft tissue injections, and peripheral nerve blocks.

She is also interested in studying mechanisms involved in injury of intervertebral discs (the cushioning structures in between the vertebrae) and opioid-induced hyperalgesia (heightened response to pain).

Demir-Deviren completed postdoctoral research in orthopedic surgery at UCSF, examining outcomes in patients with scoliosis, other spinal disorders, rheumatoid arthritis and Parkinson's disease.

    Since my insurance only approved me for one visit I'm not sure how to get the emg test approved/covered . If I need to wait for insurance approval before scheduling the test.

    I went to MRI @7 am and my appt w Dr was at 11:30 didn't get seen till almost 2 pm for short amt of time after driving 5 hours to SF & 又5个小时

    Dr. 扶桑 Deviren tries hard to treat the whole patient. She is excellent at recognizing lifestyle issues as well as medical pain management.

    She has cancelled on me numerous times and always runs about an hour late. She doesn't seem to really know about my issues and never seems to have looked at my chart before she comes in to see me. I have been very disappointed in her and am very shocked she is a dr at UCSF

    This is the 4th time I have seen Dr. Deviren. She is a very rare and exceptional Dr. She is kind caring professional and very thoughtful in her response to questions. I always come away from seeing her with a wealth of knowledge about my condition and how to improve my health. I very much appreciate the depth of her medical knowledge combined with her thoroughness and kindness

    MD was engaged in our conversation looking me in the eye and letting me know a generalized result of the information but seemed in a rush ( I get this is a possibility for a busy practice) but the PA told me she would pull up my images to review. She gave me a brief explanation of the MRI with treatment options but only when prompting did she open my chart on EPIC to review the material. MY MRI was a page of results and as a health 护理 provider I had several specific questions. I never was shown any of my images and specifics were vague. Overall the MD was engaging and kind but also seemed in a hurry after I waited over an hour.

    This office and staff are one of the best at UCSF-efficient organized professional Andy patient-oriented. My husband and I have had medical 护理 and procedures for the past 13 years and have experienced multiple departments and staff.

    From my initial x-ray to MRI's to various doctors it took me 6 months to finally get this appointment. The physician rushed through my appointment and minimized my concerns. It wasn't clear to me if she actually even reviewed my MRI. Asking questions seemed like a nuissance to her. 因此沮丧。. Not even sure what to do from here because not sure she even considered my ailments appropriately. It was a very "defeating" visit. I have struggled with this back pain for 10 years

    Once I got into my appointment the doctor was very good. It was worth the wait but there was quite a wait to get in to see her

    This has been an overall shit show. I never had a conversation with the 护理 provider. I have only talked with her staff. She did perform the procedure but never had any kind of conversation with me directly. I am not sure what to make of it. I had a follow up appointment with her and she did not attend that. I feel upset and disregarded.

    The provider never listen to what I have to say she never gave me an answer because the problem I have with always there but for some reason when I got this new medicine I have a different problem and she didn't listen

    I keep on checking my MyChart account for it after visit summarys from my visit with the doctor as well as results from the radiology exam that had been ordered for me but there are STILL no aftervisit summaries And that's honestly irritating.

    Dr Deviren is very brusque and does not appear to enjoy interacting. I could not fully understand her and she has not posted Visit Notes. She mentioned some type of fracture and I couldn't understand the word.

    I felt like I was a annoyance and that the provider didn't really listen to any of my concerns. I felt very dismissed and like the visit was a waste of time. I didn't even feel comfortable asking all of the questions because it was so rushed and dismissive.

    The physical medical hx form I completed and detailed supplementaI information about my health issue that I emailed to the doctor's office was not accessible to the doctor in advance of my appointment We were unable to reference that information during the appointment.
